I just installed this today and have had no other mods on the game. I turned off the Steam Overlay... yet as soon as the game starts to load, it tells me "XR_3DA.exe has stopped working." I tried deleting the SweetFX folder to no avail. I tried googling and the only solution I found at all was deleting SweetFX and reinstalling AA2... and this didn't help me one bit.
My Steam DCS install stopped working suddenly - click "Play", I get the usual radio button popup & choose normal Steam version, then the button turns blue and displays "Stop", and after a few seconds goes back to green "Play". No other clues, the DCS logs are all from tha last successful game load so nothing useful there.
xr3da has stopped working
I had this same error pop up after I updated cLion. After hours of tinkering, I noticed one of my files was not included in the project target. After I added it back to the active project, I stopped getting the undefined reference to winmain16, and the code compiled.
Above are the most common reasons for the occurrence of such an error and how to eliminate it. However, there is another "departure", which occurs after the launch of the "Stalker", and its frequency is always different. It is accompanied by a system message "xr_3da.exe is stopped". The reason for it most often lies in some internal conflict of files and libraries of the game. In this case, the installation of the patch helps, and in the log of the "departure" you can see the detailed information.
I was able to get DXWnd to startup with "Run as Administrator" privileges. So that's good. But I ran into a serious problem with it that I think is on DXWnd's end. I will get into that in a minute. UPDATE: I might have figured out how to fix the problem that I was having so it is probably working now.
I still couldn't read all your post, but from some facts I'd bet that you have two dxwnd.ini profiles in two different folders and, depending on how you start dxwnd either manually or at startup, the program gets running in two different working folders where the two configurations are located, so it grabs a different configuration. For sure, when you double-click on DxWnd.exe you get the program running from the folder where the program is located, but that probably doesn't hold when you run it at startup, maybe you have some dxwnd.ini in the Windows folders (you could search for dxwnd.ini files under C:\ drive...) .Since it is not recommended to place user files under the Windows system folders, I would recommend to take care to set the program workin directory to DxWnd folder before running the exe, if you're using a script just place a change driver + change folder before, like this (untested) example
That's more or less what I thought. The "Start in (optional)" seems to specify the working directory, and if you say nothing then Windows runs your program in the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" folder, that's why DxWnd created another dxwnd.ini there.Just keep in mind that one thing is the program location ("C:\Users\Brian\Programs (1803)\DXWnd 2.04.77" in your case) and another thing is the program working directory. They are the same one by default only when you double-click on the program's icon, but it is just one possibility.Well, if you don't mind I think we (me and Riitaoja) will try to transform this post in a DxWnd help tutorial page, thank you for trying. 2ff7e9595c
